Meet Daisy Azagba, a 2020 Young Achievers Foundation Ghana Scholar. Through YAF Ghana, Daisy has secured a 4-year academic scholarship worth over $220,000 to pursue her undergraduate education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Daisy was admitted into the prestigious Honors Carolina program at UNC-Chapel Hill where she plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Daisy graduated from Our Lady of Apostles Senior High School at Ho in the Volta region of Ghana. At OLA, Daisy was an integral part of the Red Cross Society and the Health Club. Through these extracurricular activities, she developed her passion for nutritional science and research.
Daisy’s career goal is to work with Doctors without Borders and use scientific research to tackle global health issues such as malnutrition and maternal and child healthcare, particularly in the developing world.
Daisy’s story is one of persistence and determination. Born to a subsistence farmer and a mother with very little education, Daisy has strived to capitalize on all the resources YAF Ghana made available to her to pursue her dreams.
We at YAF Ghana congratulate Daisy for her tremendous achievements and wish her the very best in her undergraduate education.
